Quilted Christmas

My daughter, son-in-law and I were wrapping Christmas presents and talking about past Christmas's when we decided to quilt together odd and end Christmas paper.

When my children were young I saved and reused christmas wrapping paper to save money .

We used address lables and the sticky addvertisements with them to tape the paper together. Whe put the labels on the inside so it wouldnt show then used fun stickers on the outside to tape it closed.

We realized that it not only saves money to reuse Christmas wrapp, it also puts less into our land fill's.

Christmas paper must be extra bad for the environment with all the color and sparkle. To reuse it would be one small step to taking care of our world.

Merry Christmas and help protect out Earth.

Christmas Fun

As my daughter, son-in-law and I wrapped Christmas presents we talked about quilting. My daughter talked about how I always saved the paper year after year and reused it when she was growing up. I told her as a single mother I did everything I could to save money and still make it look like we were doing OK. She said she didn't mind as a child and it became fun counting the years we had used the same paper year after year. I told her this not only saved money but it helped the environment. Christmas paper for the 70's and 80's was not environmentally friendly. Reusing it helped prevent some of the land fill problem.

Making bags out of scrap fabric can be fun and help you have a green Christmas. You could use the bags again and again every year.

Pillow

We learn, not by success or by reinforcement, but simply by doing.
Our work brings people face to face with love. To us what matters is an individual. To get to love the person we must come in close contact with him. Mother Teresa

In life you meet the people God put in your path; what you do with them is in your ballpark.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Do all the good you can, to all the people you can, in all the ways you can, as long as ever you can. A gentle heart is tied with easy thread. A gentle tongue is a tree of life. Blood with gentle manners breed. Let gentle blood show generous might. To others gentle, to himself severe.

I asked a river, "What is love?"
and it replied: "The Sea."
I asked the question of the trees:
"The wind,"they answered me.
I asked a mountain and it cried:
"The Stars!" and I asked a field of grain;
It quickly sang; "The rain! the rain!
The shore told me it was the tide.
And when I asked my soul, it said:
"Love is the shining key
To that fair golden temple
Of my immoriality."
Adelaide P. Love Within every adversity lies a slumbering possibility.
My house, I say. But hark to the sunny doves That make my roof the arena of their loves, That gyre about the gables all day long and fill the chimneys with their murmurous song!
Our house, they say; and mine the cat declares, and spreads his golden fleece upon the chairs; and mine, the dog, and rises stiff with wrath . If any alien foot profane the path!
Benjamin Franklin said: "A house without woman or firelight is like a body without soul or spirit."
It is getting dark, time to be going to sleep.

Your life

You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments that stand out are the moments when you have done things for others.

Henry Drummond

Finished blue and white double wedding ring quilt

It is not perfect but it is for a married couple to cuddle under.
This quilt was made with love for two wonderful people in my life.

I pray that this quilt finds it's owners full of love for each other that will last a lifetime.

Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the way.

Help carry one another's burdens and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.
It is kindness in a person, not beauty, which wins our love.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, is not selfish and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done. Love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and alwayus remains strong.
