Working on a horse quilt

Night Cap

Supplies,
1/4 inch ribbon or 1/4 in elastic
Thread
1 yard fabric cut in circle to fit head with 2 inch extra and a one inch wide one yard strip.
safety pin

Make a circle two inches larger than your head at the point you wish for the hat to tighten.
Start two inches from end of circle and place the strip around the hat. Be to remember to place a 1/4 inch under fold on both sides. Stop one inch from other end. Cut strip and leave enough so it can be sewn together later.
Place two button holes just big enough for the ribbon on the fleece circle in the are where the strip will cover. Sew the strip together and finish sewing to the circle.
Draw the ribbon through the button holes with the safety pin. when there is one end exiting each button hole pin the two sides together.
Hem the outside of the circle.
Undo safety pin. Draw ribbon together so it fits the head and tie in a bow.
If using elastic delete the button holes and adjust to fit.
dadaa you now have a night cap.

Quilted Christmas

My daughter, son-in-law and I were wrapping Christmas presents and talking about past Christmas's when we decided to quilt together odd and end Christmas paper.

When my children were young I saved and reused christmas wrapping paper to save money .

We used address lables and the sticky addvertisements with them to tape the paper together. Whe put the labels on the inside so it wouldnt show then used fun stickers on the outside to tape it closed.

We realized that it not only saves money to reuse Christmas wrapp, it also puts less into our land fill's.

Christmas paper must be extra bad for the environment with all the color and sparkle. To reuse it would be one small step to taking care of our world.

Merry Christmas and help protect out Earth.

Christmas Fun

As my daughter, son-in-law and I wrapped Christmas presents we talked about quilting. My daughter talked about how I always saved the paper year after year and reused it when she was growing up. I told her as a single mother I did everything I could to save money and still make it look like we were doing OK. She said she didn't mind as a child and it became fun counting the years we had used the same paper year after year. I told her this not only saved money but it helped the environment. Christmas paper for the 70's and 80's was not environmentally friendly. Reusing it helped prevent some of the land fill problem.

Christmas Bag's

Making bags out of scrap fabric can be fun and help you have a green Christmas. You could use the bags again and again every year.
